At Dragoo Services, our priority is protecting your pool equipment and preventing avoidable damage during severe weather. Certain service tasks require opening equipment (pump lids, baskets, filters, valves, and exposed plumbing). In freezing temperatures, these actions can increase the risk of cracked components, air leaks, broken seals, and equipment failure.
To reduce the chance of damage and costly repairs, Dragoo Services follows the inclement weather policy below.
When Service may be Suspended:
Freezing temperatures or hard-freeze warnings
Ice, sleet, hazardous road conditions, or unsafe working conditions
Extreme wind or weather events that make service unsafe or likely to cause equipment damage
During these conditions, opening pool equipment is not recommended and may create larger issues during a freeze.
What We Do During Freezing Weather
When freezing temperatures are expected, Dragoo Services may:
Suspend routine service (basket cleaning, filter access, equipment opening) until temperatures rise
For inclement weather events involving freezing temperatures, service will not be rescheduled, delayed, or moved to a later time of day.
If temperatures are at or below freezing during a client’s normally scheduled service window, no service will be performed that day. Routes will not be shifted to later hours once temperatures rise above freezing.
This policy is in place to ensure:
Consistent and predictable scheduling for all clients
Safe operating conditions for pool equipment
Reasonable working hours and route integrity
Service will resume on the next regularly scheduled visit once weather conditions return to safe operating levels.
Homeowner Responsibilities During a Freeze
During freezing conditions, the homeowner is responsible for ensuring:
The pool equipment is running continuously (circulation is the best protection)
Freeze protection (if equipped) is enabled and operating properly
Power to the pool equipment remains on
Protecting Your Equipment
Extreme cold can make plastics and seals brittle. Opening pump lids, backwashing, or manipulating valves during freezing weather can cause damage. When temperatures are near or below freezing, it is often safer to maintain steady circulation and avoid disturbing equipment unless there is an urgent issue.
